The founders and coaches of CrossFit Featherbrooke are no strangers to the fitness industry with combined experience of more than 20 years of personal training and coaching.
The CrossFit principles embodies all that we believe in with the focus on functional movements, high variety and intensity. In essence we re-learn all the movement patterns that are natural to humans and get our athletes to perform at a safe level that is in line with the human body’s capacity. In other words we get to be all that we were designed to be.
We believe that the better we embed these movement and energy patterns the more it will serve our athletes for the rest of their lives, ultimately ensuring a better quality of life. Hence we saw the need to introduce CrossFit Kids to embed these principles from early development stages, thereby cementing safe and functional movement patterns in our future generations. CrossFit kids is not merely a scaled down version of CrossFit for adults, but is a scientifically and peer reviewed programme developed over decades and multiple practical implementations.
Not only do we teach physical skills in the principles of fitness (speed, agility, power, balance, accuracy, cardiovascular endurance, coordination) but the programme plays a major role in cognitive development by developing concentration, focus, vestibular system adaptations, resilience and confidence. We have also found that many of the benefits translate directly to adults participating in CrossFit, thereby building stronger families.
