Ladies March Newsletter

Dear lady members

The heat certainly has not abated with temperatures in the high 30’s during the last month. I’m sure
we are all looking forward to some cooler autumn weather.
It’s been a busy couple of weeks with the ladies open, followed by the mixed. Both were very successful, which is great for the ladies’ section coffers. Thank you to Yasmine Johnson for running the Ladies Open.

The next ladies open will be the 21st of May and the Mixed Open on the 5th of May.

This Saturday is the Men’s Senior Champs, so the ladies will go off from 12h16. Please book with the pro shop if you would like to play.

Eunice Segatlhe has joined Ruimsig from Krugersdorp. Eunice, we wish you many happy golfing times with our ladies’.

The Knock-outs have now been printed and are up in the ladies’ locker room. The first round is to be played by the 30th of April, please schedule your games as early as possible and not leave it to the last minute.

Sunday League – Lynette Fuls Team
Lynette’s team had to switch courses and they played away at Houghton because of the rain which left our course unplayable. They lost 4 -2
They then played away at Leeuwkop on the 3rd of March, and unfortunately lost 6 -0. All we need to do is keep trying.

My Sunday league team played on the 27th of Feb against Modderfontein at home and won 4 -2.
The next game for both teams will be on the 24th of March. Hoping to report on more wins.

The Bronze team played at home on the 7th of March and strutted out in our brand-new blue shirts and did them justice, winning 4 -2. Long may our winning ways continue. Their next game is the 4th of April against Bryanston which will be a tester.

Silver League
Played CCJ on the 7th of March and unfortunately lost 6 – 0. Hoping for a better result next time.

Rule 5.6
A round of golf is meant to played at a prompt pace.
Each player should recognise that his or her pace of play is likely to affect how long it will take other players to play their rounds, including both those in the players own group and those in following groups.
Players are encouraged to allow faster groups to play through.

(1) PACE OF PLAY RECOMMEDATIONS: - The player should play at a prompt pace throughout the round, including the time taken to:
• Prepare to make each stroke,
• Move from one place to another between strokes, and
• Move to the next teeing area after completing a hole.
A player should prepare in advance for the next stroke and be ready to play when it is his or her turn.
When it is the players turn to play:
• It is recommended that the player make the stroke in no more than 40 seconds after he or she is (or should be) able to play without interference or distraction, and
• The player should usually be able to play more quickly than that and is encouraged to do so.
